Job Overview
This position is responsible for providing nutrition services to WIC applicants and participants.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree public health nutrition, nutrition, or related field.
One (1) year of clinical experience in community nutrition.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master’s degree public health nutrition, nutrition, or related field
Hours: 24 hours a week / 8:30am-4:30/ Tuesday-Thursday / One Saturday a month
Duties and Responsibilities : The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Conducts anthropometrical and hematological data collection.
Conducts dietary assessment, nutritional risk assessment, and food package prescription
Provides counseling and education.
Completes all required documentation and data entry.
Provides referrals to other health and social services.
Follows-up on nutrition education.
Participates in planning, development and evaluation of: Educational materials and group nutrition education sessions; Nutrition Education Action Plan; Nutrition in-services and outreach activities; and Nutrition Policies.
Assists with training paraprofessional WIC staff and conducting quality assurance activities.
Communicates with healthcare community on issues pertaining to participant needs.
Provides nutritional care for low-risk applicants and participants as needed.
Establishes relationships between public and private agencies to create effective networks of health-related services and resources.
