Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators at Mercy Medical Center . This person assist in the management of unit personal and the nursing unit environment. You will work as a hospital administrative supervisor.

The ideal candidate will act as a clinical role model for staff by providing exceptional care to assigned patients, support the Nursing Manager in evaluating patient care and use of nursing process and implementation plan, and actively participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement program by taking a leadership role in the unit.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full-Time

  • 24 hours (2 x 12 weekend shifts) get paid for 30 hours with benefits

  • Day shit

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Contributing to the effective management of the nursing unit. Assumes a leadership role in two units. Assists Nurse Manager in strategic planning process for nursing unit by participation in the identification of short- and long-term goals.

  • Assisting with the management of clinical operations. Supports and participates in Clinical Program Management activity. Coordinates patient care assignments depending on patient acuity, developmental age nurse-patient ratio, and individual staff abilities. Assists Nurse Manager in planning budgetary needs of unit related to human resources, environment, equipment and supplies.

  • Working with Nurse Manager, Director, HUB Coordinator and House Supervisors in ensuring timely patient flow throughout the hospital.

  • Providing patient care, performing treatments and procedures.

  • Responsible for direct supervision of employees

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required

  • Licensure: Current Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Massachusetts

  • Certification: CPR certification required.

  • Minimum of three (3) year's demonstrated clinical experience required. Knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends and practices.

  • Demonstrated clinical competence in utilization of the nursing process in rendering of patient care. Able to anticipate and positively react to technical, organizational and administrative issues.

  • Demonstrated leadership, judgment, and management skills including communication, problem solving, and decision-making. Ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a professional role model.

  • Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification: ACLS, PALS, PEARS certification

  • Experience: Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
