This Assistant Controller role is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity located in Lakeville-middleborough, Massachusetts. Your responsibilities in this role - Provide GAAP mentorship for technical accounting, external reporting, and support to the Company - Take on coordination and leadership over external financial audits - Supply external monthly and quarterly reporting packages to Board meeting decks - Drive the monthly financial executive package and control book to include budget to actual comparisons by department - Prepare and manage account reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts Other responsibilities may include participation in special projects, system improvements or impromptu analyses/projects as assigned - Assist in developing the accounting team, which includes staffing, performance management, and training - Conduct treasury functions to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner and cash forecasts are accurate - Uphold policies for reporting and accounting Finish month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, as well as financial statements Requirements - Capacity to anticipate needs and pre-plan work - Great attention to detail - Relevant industry experience (preferred) - Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills - Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills - Previous industry experience - Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure - SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Bachelor degree in Accounting - Analyze Financial Statements experience highly desired - Accounts Payable (AP) experience - Foundational knowledge in Annual Financial Plan - Annual Internal Audit experience required - Deep understanding of internal audit - Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines - Experience with higher level functionality in Microsoft Excel Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
