Situation in Organization

  • Reports to Plant Manager

  • The Production Manager leads the plant production organization

    Job Dimensions

  • Provide the leadership, direction, and management for five distinct manufacturing operations and operating teams.

  • Responsible for the safe operation and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for delivery production to KPI targets and results against site productivity goals

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the capacity and staffing modules needed to meet operational objectives for the site.

    Activities

  • Lead production resources to meet operational objectives

  • Deliver the goal of no safety or environmental incidents while complying with PSM requirements.

  • Active and frequent engagement on the shop floor to ensure safe behaviors, drive continuous improvement and compliance with EH&S policies.

  • Practice Safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific EHS expectations.

  • Ensure PSM systems and processes are in place and valued.

  • Set high expectations for shop floor housekeeping and utilization of 5S.

  • Lead and execute the plant operational excellence program to improve operational efficiency.

  • Set clear responsibility and expectations for supervisors and shift leads to deliver results. Ensure a system of accountability is in place.

  • Drive continuous improvement in process OEE, yield and first time right production through non-capital process optimization.

  • Engage and set priorities with plant leadership team to leverage resources and align priorities to deliver production targets.

  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with shared services functions to ensure

  • Instill a sense of accountability and ownership at all levels of the production organization to deliver production to KPI targets.

  • Engagement with off shift on routine basis

  • Ensure a culture of problem solving and root cause analysis to drive the elimination of repeat failures.

  • Instill a culture of urgency and rapid action to resolve problems and implement sustainable improvements.

  • Context and environment

  • A fast paced, high pressure environment where you are involved in a wide variety of functions and activities.

  • You will participate in activities within the plant and also outside the plant.

  • Heavy use of computer software, both PC based and enterprise system, combined with frequent interpersonal communication.

  • Expectation is that a good portion or your time will be spent on the floor. +50%

    Accountabilities

    Leadership of production activities to meet plant and business objectives.

    Qualifications / Experience Required

  • BS or MS in Engineering or related discipline

  • Experience in Supervision and Management of Manufacturing Operations 5-10 years

  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational productivity and quality.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a team environment

  • Adaptable to change and can lead change

  • Experience with Lean/6 Sigma Manufacturing

  • Ability to manage competing priorities

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in PSM covered processes or similarly regulated operation
