Waters Business Analyst/Project Manager - IT Internship in Milford, Massachusetts
An internship within the Information Technology (IT) department of Waters Technology Corporation provides an opportunity for current undergraduate and graduate students to gain training, real-world experience and mentorship by working with industry professionals on high priority initiatives. In this paid and full-time internship, you will help to shape the future of the company and its technology transformation. You will learn about our company’s market, products and culture while driving and participating within IT projects/programs that support business objectives and our overall mission. Throughout the internship, you will receive performance feedback and mentoring, build business/technical acumen and develop skills that will serve as the foundation for your professional career.
You will also be part of our 2023 Global Intern Program and will be invited to attend virtual Power Hour sessions, roundtables hosted by members of our Executive Committee as well as joining local events on the site you are based. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Waters and the variety of roles we offer as well as learning more about the Life Sciences industry.
This is a paid internship for a period of 3 months over the summer period and we will have 4 intake dates which will be communicated to you during the course of your application.
During your internship, you will be working in the Information Technology business area based in the Milford, MA facility and completing a project that will involve:
Developing and maintaining a project plan with milestones, overseeing project progress, and communicating through written and verbal periodic read outs to showcase progress
Conducting root cause analysis and executing steps along the SDLC
Modernizing and simplifying the IT portfolio
Driving the retirement of legacy technologies using other availability technologies that better comply to user, security and regulatory requirements
Partnering with various business units and divisions to understand requirements and priorities
Training and educating employees to garner adoption
Enhance governance models associated with platforms
Build professional relationships and become a trusted technology advisor to leadership, stakeholders, team members and peers
Team leadership to plan and coordinate tasks, milestones, and desired outcomes
Build reports and collect information that support data-driven decisions
Conduct background research and exploratory analysis to proactively identify business needs and recommend opportunities for improvement
Propose innovative solutions that solve complex business problems or improve productivity/efficiency using technology
Analyze, define, implement and document business processes as well as proposed solutions
Curate and create documentation and reference material
Facilitate and lead meetings with clear agendas and action items
Propose, communicate and garner adoption for solutions to business problems
Support other strategic projects and initiatives as assigned by manager
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
0-1+ years in information technology, computer science or a related field through academic and/or professional experience
Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university or college
Interest in technology with an understanding of the market and trends
Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, people and processes as well as changing priorities
Attention to detail and organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Able to work independently and collaborate with others in a team setting
