Milton CAT Corporate Earthmoving Quote Writer in Milford, Massachusetts

Milton CAT is classified as an essential business, as we support hospitals, grocery stores, landfill, waste, roads, bridges, critical construction and transportation. We continue to maintain business operations during this time, including hiring for open positions.

Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Earthmoving Quote Writer to work in any one of our Service locations. The role of the Quote Writer is to provide customers with accurate parts and labor pricing. This requires the use of clear descriptions for the scope of proposed work in all areas of Service performed in Milton CAT territory. The Quote Writer will be utilizing consistent processes in conjunction with standard jobs and repair options so that customers can feel confident about getting a quality repair for a competitive price at any of the Milton CAT Service locations. The Quote Writer will also monitor sold quotes through the entire repair process looking for opportunities to improve our customer’s overall experience when they select Milton CAT as their repair service provider.

Note: We are recruiting for one open position that could be based anywhere within our territory. We have advertised this position in multiple cities within our territory.

  • Gather and research the necessary information required to provide accurate and timely quotes based on requests received through the central quote request site.

  • Present completed quotes for review process with Service Managers, Supervisors and Sales personnel.

  • Work in conjunction with and provide support for other Quote Writers & Customer Help Line.

  • Maintain Quote Writing site for accurate retrieval of previous quote history.

  • Perform research on reoccurring repairs in order to develop standard jobs.

  • Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times adhering to company policy.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.

  • Experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar equipment.

  • Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.

  • Proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.).

  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong math skills.

  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
