Waters North America Finance Director in Milford, Massachusetts

Waters has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Finance Director to provide business partnership, financial insights and analysis to support the North American Field Operations Division (approx. revenue $700M per year). The division provides sales, service and technical support to the US and Canada.

As a department, finance provides accounting, analysis, reporting, forecasting, planning, budgeting and incentive compensation support for the division. The North American Finance Director will report to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration for the Americas and lead a team of eight with three manager-level direct reports.

The Finance Director will partner closely with the General Managers within North American Field Operations.

  • use of analytics and business acumen to collaborate with business leaders to develop orders and sales forecasts

  • partnering with business leaders on allocation of resources including headcount, operating expenses, capital and inventory

  • partnering with business leaders on design of incentive plans

  • ensuring compliance with revenue recognition rules and policies

  • oversight and coordination of team efforts to:

  • administer all incentive plans for the organization including plan documents, goal setting, modeling and calculation of payouts

  • perform accounting for the organization, including support for the leasing portfolio, accruals, demo inventory, intercompany profit eliminations and revenue deferrals

  • conduct business analysis of sales and trade margin performance

  • plan, develop and implement cost center level budget/annual operating plan for division

  • provide tax and treasury support to the Canadian operation

  • Minimum of a BS in accounting or finance related disciplne

  • Significant experience working in accounting and/or finance with progressing responsibility and proven leadership abilities

  • CPA preferred, but at a minimum must have experience in leading accounting activities

  • a self-aware, genuine and optimistic leader with proven ability to develop a diverse, high performance, results oriented team

  • passion for creating improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of finance and accounting processes and procedures, both individually and through inspiration of team members
