Summary:
Provide a safe environment in the evening, overnight weekend. Observe and report activities to day staff.

Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise daily/nightly/overnight and weekend activities and clients.
Provide Case Management/counseling to individuals in crisis situations.
Supervise client compliance with program rules.
Provide safety for all clients by completing hourly safety and fire check throughout the night.
Participate in regular staff meetings as directed.
Contribute to a supportive interpersonal atmosphere.
Attend mandatory/required staff meetings.
Record & file necessary paperwork.
Supervise medication time
Conduct monthly fire drills.
Meet bi-weekly with Program Director for Supervision.
Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Understanding the disease concept of addiction and knowledge of the 12 step programs.
Organizational Relationship: Directly reports to Program Director. Direct reports of this position are None.
Physical Requirement: Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a residential program.
Working Conditions: This facility is a non-smoking environment. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Recovery Specialist will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
