The National Security Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a Lab Manager to work with our team in Natick, MA. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your talents and expertise to support our US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Solider Center (CCDC-SC) mission.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Lab Management support to the Combat Feeding Division (CFD) for the Pilot Plant, Navy Lab, and other Division labs.

  • Provide management functions for the Pilot Plant/Navy Lab to include facilitating, coordinating, communicating, and organizing tasks essential for ongoing pilot plant activities and usage. They will be adept at prioritizing and balancing tasks, aiming to provide essential lab management support. The pilot plant manager is expected to become familiar with pilot plant operations, higher level resource management, and communication and coordination within and outside of the division.

  • Primary POC for managing both the Pilot Plant and Navy Labs, and temperature control boxes.

  • Work with the existing Contracting Officer Representatives (COR’s) to assist with maintaining existing pilot plant contracts and establishing new contracts for support, schedule new services, and maintaining operational functions.

  • Maintain resources for optimal function and organization, to include: SharePoint calendar for Pilot Plant and Navy Lab schedules, inventory sub hand receipt holder for decaled items with ADP, hazardous waste collection area and eye wash station, equipment storage container.

  • Responsible for preparing lists of necessary items to be purchased by Government credit card holders and responsible for maintaining stock for Pilot Plant (i.e. spices/ingredients/chemicals).

  • Oversees or reviews equipment maintenance and repair, to include facilitation of new equipment and equipment turns ins for division equipment in the Pilot Plant/Navy lab.

  • Oversees/generates SOP for shared equipment.

  • Works with the CFD Program Integrator to draft and update pilot plant spend plan.

  • Provide input for lab (mission) specific work orders to facilitate Department of Public Works maintenance requests.

  • Organizes and enforces lab safety and sanitation, including annual storage clean out.

  • Prepares for and participates in annual G4 and other lab safety inspections, bi-annual lab review with Chief Warrant Officer.

  • Communicate important laboratory updates to the division and CFD leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree with 4 or more years of relevant experience

  • US Citizen: Successful completion of background check to obtain/maintain a government common access card (CAC) upon hire

  • Proven abilities with Lab management, equipment general operation and maintenance, and tasks planning and completion

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software (ie. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple actions at any given time

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical and technical skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as with others in a team

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with foodservice products and equipment

  • Understanding of basic plumbing and electrical

  • Experience with Military commodities

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
