The Engineering Development Group (EDG) is a key leadership development program in MathWorks, enabling candidates from a variety of technical backgrounds to develop and demonstrate their skills for a successful and rewarding career.
As a team member in EDG with a focus on UX Research, you will enhance your leadership and technical skills, and work on projects with the MathWorks UX Research team. You will gain experience with MathWorks products and user workflows through direct interactions with customers. You will receive mentoring and coaching to transition into a UX Researcher role within the MathWorks UX organization. UX Researchers at MathWorks lead projects through the full development process, from understanding our users and their needs, to testing concepts and prototypes, through launch and monitoring solutions in the market.
Responsibilities
As a team member in EDG with a focus on UX Research, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive team, contribute to meaningful UX projects and provide technical support assistance to customers. Contribute to high impact UX Research projects with teams across Development organizations to strengthen your technical and professional skills and help advance your career.
Conduct user research, identify user pains, and study user workflows to impact strategy and product direction.
Execute a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as, but not limited to, user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and card sorting .
Provide technical support to MathWorks customers for highly complex technical issues in MATLAB, Simulink, and our entire suite of products.
Specialize and develop technical skills in your domain and MathWorks product suite.
Develop and demonstrate leadership skills through opportunities to coach and mentor others, and initiate and lead process improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with HCI, Design, or similar specialization
Experience with relevant research and collaboration tools (e.g., UserZoom, OptimalWorkshop, Morae, Miro)
Experience with a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Programming experience in any programming language (MATLAB, R, Python, C++, Java, JS, etc.)
