Needham Bank Consumer Credit Specialist II in Needham, Massachusetts
As a member of the Residential & Consumer Lending team, the Consumer Credit Specialist II will be responsible for assisting the SVP, Consumer Lending, Credit Card Administrator and other lending colleagues with daily end-to-end workflow of the consumer and credit card lending production process.
The Consumer Credit Specialist II will be an integral member of the Consumer Lending team, supporting the daily routines and various functions associated with the consumer lending process. Responsibilities include, monitoring new application activity, workflow and pipeline management, processing, documenting, and preparing applications for underwriting, closing and disbursement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the Consumer Credit Administrator, support the daily end-to-end consumer lending production process including but not limited to… new credit card and consumer loan applications, request and process required documentation from customers, analyze and prepare applications for underwriting review
Act as the initial point-of-contact for customers and branches related to the application, documentation and review process.
Provide initial review and validation of credit card and consumer loan applications to ensure documentation is well organized, meets program procedures, requirements and lending policies.
Demonstrate a consistently high level of service to ensure a positive customer experience and adherence to the bank’s customer service standards.
Maintain a positive professional demeanor at all times when interacting with customers, managers and peers.
Escalate issues in a timely manner to management and inform of issues or delays that have potential to negatively impact the customer experience. Provide recommendations for potential solutions.
Assist, support and produce various daily/weekly production reports; Monitor and elevate issues/trends.
Maintain a thorough understanding of consumer credit documentation and processing requirements.
Identify ways to increase efficiency, reduce processing time, increase speed and overall process improvements.
Develop an ability to provide support and information to internal teams including… Residential and Consumer Lending, Retail and Private Banking, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Marketing or other teams as needed.
Develop a basic understanding and knowledge of bank products and services.
Perform additional duties as requested, needed or assigned.
Minimum high school diploma, with additional education or equivalent work experience preferred.
Two to five years’ consumer or other lending and credit experience preferred.
High degree of comfort and experience using Microsoft office software
Ability and willingness to quickly comprehend and become efficient using a variety of the proprietary systems associated with supporting the credit processes.
Prior experience with aspects of the consumer credit application process, in particular credit cards.
Basic understanding of the requirements under the Consumer Protection Act and applicable compliance regulations such as Regulation E and Regulation Z.
Excellent organizational, analytical, time management and interpersonal skills.
Ability and willingness to prioritize functions, workflows and independently complete daily responsibilities.
Enthusiastic customer advocate with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Capability to maintain an excellent personal credit profile.
