*The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is dedicated to creating, in partnership with others, innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to, their communities as valued members. Provides support to individuals living in the apartment or home in which they work. Staff support individual by teaching them skills, carrying out programs, completing documentation, delivers medication, reports concerns to supervisors and provides physical assistance when necessary. In addition staff drive the state vehicle in order to transport individuals to work or on leisure or community trips. Staff are expected to be familiar with community and neighborhood resources and assist individuals in becoming active members of their community. Staff must be familiar with State regulations. They will also be required to complete housekeeping and yard work as requested. Must maintain current CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration Program certifications. *
Schedule: Needham residence, Friday-Tuesday, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am Wednesday/Thursday off
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationship with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
Capacity to assist/lift individuals with physical disabilities and/or limited mobility or objects (minimum 55 lbs);
Aptitude to transcribe read and comprehend the English language;

Possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
Applicants must pass the Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification
Upon successful completion of a training program, incumbents must obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid (FA) certification

*This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, selected applicant will be required to report to work. *
This is a 24hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform "MANDATORY OVERTIME" when circumstances dictate the need.

A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired.
