Job Summary: The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and other disciplines to ensure quality, cost effective patient care. Provides patient care to patients undergoing Radiology Interventional Procedures, including pre-procedure work up, patient monitoring, conscious sedation as required, and assists with post procedure recovery. Coordinates this care to ensure safe, effective, efficient patient centered care and communicates effectively with the radiology team and other department personnel. Provides nursing support to patients in all areas of radiology as needed to include but not limited to, IV placement, patient assessment and monitoring. Performs these duties to ensure that patients and their families are satisfied with their care.
Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Radiology team, assists with the scheduling and pre-procedure requirements for patients scheduled for invasive procedures.
Communicates effectively with the patient and their family any pre-procedure instructions or lab work required. Communicates effectively with the ordering provider any pre-procedure instructions, medication orders or lab work required.
Works effectively under the direction of the radiologist to provide comprehensive patient care during the procedure.
Insures that supplies, equipment and appropriate resources are available for interventional procedures
Required Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
License Registered Nurse required., and Registration Advanced Cardiac Life Support required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.
1-3 years related work experience required.
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with Interventional Radiology

Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.
Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.
