Summary This position provides specialized clerical work related to the accounts of an assigned Department. Essential Function Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Accept payments on behalf of New Bedford and process in multiple systems. 2. Process City Departmental Revenue. 3. Process all invoice payments from Departments. 4. Analyze and process Attorney payments. 5. Process Utility payments through Western Union. 6. Organizes daily back up and ensures the days scans are complete and filed. 7. Maintains all files needed for daily entry and balancing. 8. Process return mail following established procedures. 9. Balance cash drawers daily following established procedures. 10. Able to assist Residents with inquires and provide the correct documentation. 11. Provides effective and efficient customer service and promotes and maintains responsive community and working relations. 12. Performs other related duties as assigned. Accounting skills Independent Judgement Thoroughness & Attention to Detail Oral & Written Communication Skills Customer Service Organizational Skills Special Requirements Subject to Mandatory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Investigation) Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED equivalent At least one year of additional technical training or college coursework At least one year of office experience required. Money handling experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience
