1.Responsible for day to day operations in Plating including maintaining process control in each area for pre-plating; plating; post-plating; and laboratory requirements.
2.Ensures plating quality meets both internal Aegis specifications and customer requirements
3.Responsible for on time delivery performance
4.Works with outside plating sources expediting deliveries, issuing Corrective Actions, quoting jobs, and maintaining system pricing files
5.Release and receive chemicals, (includes phone and email contact with suppliers)
6.Supervision of personnel in Plating department including hiring, firing, training, performance reviews and all other supervisory aspects.
7.Runs department within established budget
8.Ensures Environmental Health & Safety procedures are sufficient, are followed, and training is current for departmental personnel. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
9.Controls Gold (Au), Au scrap, and working with refiners
10.Ensures Waste Water Treatment operations meets compliance requirements at all times
11.Establishes and improves processes for department
12.Reduces departmental costs appropriately based on implementing more efficient processes
13.Forms relationships with suppliers to ensure the receipt of needed materials and support.
14.Establishes blanket orders with Purchasing to ensure lowest cost pricing
15.Prepare and maintain work instructions, processes, and procedures related to plating.
16.Supports new product development related to plating
17.Serve as technical contact to customers and auditors
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Equivalent
5+ years experience working with chemical baths and plating operations, including titration and additions; 2+ years supervisory experience
1.Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
2.Strong initiative and ability to work independently to include setting priorities and organizing work effectively.
3.Experience in soft gold, electroless nickel and nickel sulfamate plating
4.Understand regulatory and customers requirements to include RoHS, REACH, and NADCAP. Familiarization with lean practices and gaining labor productivity.
5.Ability to interpret Autocad engineering drawings and blueprints. Able to read, understand, summarize and communicate technical documents.
6.Must be able to lift and carry more than 30 pounds
