Ahead LLC Senior Graphic Designer in New Bedford, Massachusetts

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Graphic Designer is an enthusiastic storyteller with a history of design excellence, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities. Their passion for market trends in color, typography, graphic design, and sport will drive forward the visual aesthetic of the Ahead brand. This role requires a teammate who collaborates and translates market insights into original, compelling custom apparel product in the Golf, Collegiate, and Resort markets with their experience in a production art setting, the Senior Graphic Designer will work directly with our Production Art members and our Manufacturing Team to ensure new concepts are communicated and designed to meet efficiencies.  This position is responsible for ensuring quality and on-time delivery in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce a wide variety of headwear and apparel graphics to support seasonal catalogs and line releases as well as daily speculative graphic requests within the Golf, Collegiate and Resort channels.

  • Generate original custom apparel graphics for key customers and events.

  • Act as lead for graphic development on high-concept, specialty, and custom-built headwear.

  • Communicate, present and brainstorm with sales reps and customers at all levels.

  • Ideate new decoration techniques and re-invent existing processes.

  • Act as mentor and provide constructive feedback to peers as well as production art.

  • Photo concepting, retouching, editing, and manipulation.

  • Create original catalog, signage, and print advertisement layouts.

  • Execute social media content.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign and other relevant software and systems preferred.

  • Illustrative abilities highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of headwear and apparel decoration techniques.

  • A deep understanding of typography, color theory, brand identity, and design principles.

  • Passion and understanding of current headwear and apparel market trends.

  • Ability to translate cultural and market shifts to compelling graphic and product stories.

  • Excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to balance and meet competing project deadlines.

  • Ability to act as lead on projects involving coworkers.

  • Great problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Must possess initiative, energy, and drive.

  • Ability to embrace diverse points of view while fostering an environment of inclusivity.

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers and leadership

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design/Illustration required.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a graphic design role.

  • Experience in a production art setting preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, touch, and type.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Regularly required to walk.
