Medical Assistant - Women's Health Care - 40hrs/week

$5000 SIGN ON BONUS!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greets patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner at all times

  • Maintains patient confidentiality, respect and HIPAA guidelines at all times

  • Assists patients and providers preparing with examinations, minor procedures within the office.

  • Performs blood pressures, vital signs and physical assessment of patient through triage. Performs ancillary testing as ordered by providers

  • Completes clear, accurate documentation within the patient medical record

  • Maintains all clinical areas with supplies necessary to function daily. Keeps exam rooms and work areas within the office clean and sanitary at all times

  • Assists with making patient appointments outside of the office

  • Assists with telephone triage, refilling prescription medication as directed by providers

  • Serves as a back-up to front office staff. Stays familiar with all functions of front office including but not limited to checking in patients, collection of co-pays, and batching out payments at end of day.

  • Provides telephone support for the office.

  • Prepares charts including obtaining appropriate records, requesting and entering referrals, and verifying insurance eligibility.

  • Prepares result letters for procedures, lab results, imaging, and any other miscellaneous testing.

  • Obtains prior authorizations for medications and testing when needed.

  • Prepares patients for upcoming procedures by reviewing instructions and answering questions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education

HS diploma or equivalency is required.

Certification as Medical Assistant and/or completion of a Medical Assistant certification program preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

Medical office experience preferred
