Bright Horizons Accountant (Hybrid) in Newton, Massachusetts

As an Accountant at Bright Horizons, you will be primarily responsible for the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements for the respective area of the business that you support. You will take part in ensuring the month end P&L and Balance Sheet transactions are posted timely and will support other areas of the business with related queries. At times you may be asked to speak with external parties, such as clients, and require attention to detail, timeliness, and professionalism. You will receive support from your manager and team as you master the skills to be a successful Accountant at Bright Horizons.

Responsibilities:

  • Timelyandaccuratepostingofaccountingtransactionsasitpertainstotheareaofthebusiness you support

  • Completionandreviewofbalancesheetreconciliations,withcarefulattentiontoensuringfluctuationsandbalancesareappropriate

  • Reviewoperatingresultswithseniormanagement,includingvariancestobudgetandforecast where necessary

  • Identifyandescalateanyrisksandopportunitiesasyoubecomeawareofthem

  • Collaborateandcommunicatewiththewiderfinanceteammembers

  • Evidencepreventativeanddetectivecontrolstomanagement

  • Reportfinancialinformationtothebusinessandsupportwithfollowupqueries

  • Workprofessionallyasatrustedpartnertointernalandexternalcustomers

  • Keepuptodatewithorganizationalchanges,financialregulations,andthemarketplace

  • Respondtimelyandappropriatelytoissuesrequiringconfidentiality

  • Performad-hocanalysisasrequired

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree - A minimum of two years of relevant experience would be considered in lieu of noted college degree - required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business degree - preferred

Internship to two years of relevant experience - preferred

Would relevant experience be considered in lieu of applicable degree?
