Business Analysts at PayPal are a part of a global analytics organization that generates insights into what will make the biggest impact on connected commerce and payments for PayPal around the globe. Providing reports and analyses only scratches the surface of what our analysts do on a daily basis; you will be a part of a team that goes above and beyond and consults on product design and customer experience.
You will conduct extensive analyses of PayPal’s rich data and, in the process, develop a deep understanding of the PayPal businesses and PayPal’s site functionality. On this team, you will strengthen your analytic, leadership, and presentation skills, and gain exposure to a wide variety of functional teams within PayPal. This is a unique role with many options for future growth here as you work alongside the brightest analytical minds in the industry.
You will work closely with finance, marketing and product teams as well as senior management to provide financial statements, consumer intelligence, to generate business insight and to provide support in business decisions. You will extract, analyze and compile many data sources to gain this knowledge.
You will be most successful with a healthy combination of both technical skill and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
Design, generate, and communicate analytics reports and dashboards specifically to measure, monitor, and alert the business regarding unforeseen shifts in performance and operational risks of various business units
Regularly analyze quantitative user data to measure effectiveness, customer behavior and conversions
Create ad-hoc reports as requested in a timely and accurate manner, assist senior leadership with various tasks and items as needed
Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, perform analyses and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making
Develop a deep understanding of PayPal Products
Requirements
Pursuing MBA or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Specifically, experience and confidence in interacting with people at all levels of an organization such as PayPal, including pitching business ideas to both senior management and external partners
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strategic thinking and mental flexibility to be able to understand both the details of the problem, as well as, the big picture/business solution
Experience in SQL or SAS
Project management experience will be a plus
