Development Operations Specialist

Community based, mission-driven hospice seeks a Development Operations Specialist to join its growing Advancement Team. Our not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization has an opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and resourceful individual. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience with database management, and be eager and willing to handle the diverse responsibilities of the job with a helpful, professional attitude, and a friendly demeanor.

Job Responsibilities:

The Development Operations Specialist works as a part of the Development team to promote organizational advancement through philanthropic relationships. The Development Operations Specialist is responsible for all administrative aspects of fundraising activities including assisting in and supporting fundraising operations, donor database management, donations processing, and donor acknowledgement letters.

The Development Operations Specialist assists with reporting to help establish and achieve fundraising goals, participate in benchmarking activities, and ensure the successful implementation of fundraising appeals and initiatives. They participate in researching donor prospects, foundation, and grant tracking and reporting, and provide integral support to the development committee.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • College degree or a minimum of one to two years of experience in an administrative position. Development and not-for-profit experience preferred

  • Enthusiastic about supporting and working as part of a team

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Proficiency in Google suite applications (docs, sheets); Database management experience preferred; Raiser’s Edge NXT a plus

  • Knowledgeable about LinkedIn

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
