A Day in the Life

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing R&D group in Newton, MA! This role will work on prototypes and R&D activities of complex cardiac ablation medical devices. The role requires excellent skill level with microscopes and free hand soldering.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.

  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.

  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

  • Micro-assembly of mechanical medical device prototypes using a microscope.

  • Work closely and collaborate with R&D Engineers.

  • Fabricating catheter assemblies /subassemblies for new products still in development.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.

Nice to Have

  • Small mechanical assembly experience, working under a microscope required.

  • Experience working with epoxies or adhesives.

  • Experience fine soldering under microscope of extremely small wires.

  • Highly detail-oriented and ability to understand work instructions and complete assembly records in English

  • Must be team-oriented, flexible, and hard-working.

  • Medical device experience is a plus.

  • Keen understanding of shop floor paperwork and record-keeping in a manufacturing environment

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
