Bright Horizons Manager, QE Automation Architect -Hybrid in Newton, Massachusetts

As Manager, QE Automation Architect you will work closely with Senior Managers, Quality Engineers, Development Team, Development leads, Business Analysts and other project team members in creating, defining and maintaining processes, reporting systems, and improving web app, mobile, API and backend automated testing.

What You Will Be Doing:
Hands on management and development for the QE Automation environment and process.
Leading and managing globally diverse team of automation engineers to define the infrastructure, environment, processes, framework, and reporting needed to create state of the art automated testing for our applications
Design, build, and maintain QE Automation processes, product, methodology, and reports
Create guidelines and ensure compliance for standardized automated test case generation
Develop team of experts to oversee large Quality Engineering team’s automation practices
Create comprehensive plans and schedules for major QE Automation initiatives
Incorporate Automation testing into CI/CD delivery models
Expand and improve the environment and use of automated QE testing
Maintain, modify, and scale testing environment and infrastructure
Evaluate and test emerging technologies/tools
Report on Application regression status at all levels
Participate in defect triage discussions
Work with Product Owners to provide testing matrix that maximizes product functionality
Facilitate team and stakeholder meetings effectively
Conduct technical assessments on new tools, practices, and methodologies to continuously improve testing value and efficiency
Coordinate all levels of automated testing such as Load and Functional tests
Budgeting, reporting and forecasting to leadership
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
Consistently acknowledge and appreciate each team member's contributions
Effectively utilize each team member to his/her fullest potential
Motivate team to work together in the most efficient manner
Keep track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members
Mitigate team conflict and communication problems
What We Hope You Will Bring to This Role:
Proven work experience as a Software Automation Architect and team manager-Previous leadership experience is required.
Strong experience building out software automation frameworks and teams
Strong understanding of software automation tools, methodologies, software engineering, and design patterns
Ensure automation projects are organized for best possible return from project resources for stability, maintainability, and efficiency.
Solid understanding and practices using source control tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Thrive on successful problem-solving situations
Experience with working in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, etc.
Proficiency with SQL databases
5+years of experience as Software Automation Architect for web-based and/or mobile applications
Experience doing Performance Testing
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field or equivalent experience
