Bright Horizons Senior Front End Developer in Newton, Massachusetts

The Senior Front End Developer will lead in the design, development and delivery of all front end development projects as well as participate in all phases of delivery including business requirement analysis, UI/UX design, and front end architecture.

This Senior Front End Developer role will be considered for Hybrid (a few days a week in our Headquarters office in Newton, MA) or fully Remote.

What you will be doing:

  • Be part of a fast paced, highly technical development team responsible for developing and delivering SaaS solutions to HR organizations

  • Lead front end development projects and ensure successful project delivery

  • Work closely with business stakeholders and development teams to design and create new user experiences

  • Design, develop, and deliver web applications

  • Participate in all phases of delivery including business requirement analysis, UI/UX design, front end architecture, development, test, deployment, and support

  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

  • Lead meetings pertaining to front end concepts/demoing front end work/front architecture

  • Mentor and guide other software engineers within the team

  • Troubleshoot complex front end issues during the project and provide solutions to solve them

  • Provide support to production; diagnose and quickly resolve production issues

  • Research and champion new technologies and approaches. Learn and prototype. Make recommendations based on upcoming product and project roadmaps

What we hope you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor or MS degrees in Computer Science or Engineering

  • Minimum 7+ years of front end design and development experience

  • Experience with large-scale website architecture

  • Proficient with Angular Typescript framework and RXJS(Angular 13+), CLI and state management

  • Proficient writing unit tests in Karma framework

  • Proficient with HTML5, SCSS(Bootstrap 3 and 4, SASS), and JavaScript(ES5)

  • Some experience with AngularJS

  • Comfortable reviewing code(suggesting best practices)

  • Proficient with mobile first and responsive web design

  • Proficient with WCAG to support ADA compliance.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD

  • Proficient with using web services.

  • Agile methodologies experience (e.g. Scrum) a strong plus

  • Excellent understanding of UX and engineering best practices and software design

  • Excellent written/documentation and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment

  • Willing to take on projects and challenges and stays engaged until successful delivery

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work effectively given general guidance and direction

Salary and Other Compensation Disclosures

The annual starting salary rate for this position is between $130,000 – 140,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
