Vice President, Operations is the leader of Account Receivable Management Services is charged with providing strategic, operations, commercial leadership and growth of Change Healthcare’s comprehensive hospital AR management solutions, which includes Insurance receivables for both professional and institutional claims as well as inbound and outbound call center services for Patient receivables.

Responsible for the growth and operation of this service line, this leader will own overall P&L, business management and the management of the leadership team and operations staff of more than 200 across multiple locations both US and abroad. The Executive Director role will need to closely work and collaborate with senior management and internal stakeholders at multiple levels to manage expectations as needed and keep the service line moving forward, including but not limited to Executive Leadership, Sales & Marketing, Real Estate, Legal, HR, Finance, and Technology teams.

Preferred location for this role will be Atlanta, GA, but can also be remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide overall business leadership for the Account Receivable Services business, leading a team of diverse team members both on and offshore

  2. Formulate business strategy, financial plans and execution plans for the business and be responsible for the business P&L.

  3. Responsible for strategic facilities management as it relates to expansion and/or consolidation, information systems, and communication systems and other technology needs

  4. Expand product offerings, generate additional revenue opportunities, improve the customer experience and enhance the infrastructure by leveraging existing and new technologies.

  5. Collaborate with other lines of business to drive organizational efficiencies and alignment and to develop the infrastructure for future growth. Effectively work across the matrix to shepherd the mindset and cultural shift needed to create a more streamlined process while the organization transforms to a more technologically-enabled customer and patient experience

  6. Provide leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the Vision and Values of Change Healthcare. Bottom line: Build an excellent company.

  7. Responsible for driving Technology-Enabled Services to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.

  8. Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for the Account Receivable Services solution.

  9. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.

  10. Build and manage strategic vendor relationships. Develop and maintain relationships with external contacts. Manage internal and external service providers (IT, operations, legal, compliance, marketing, etc.) to ensure the offerings meet company objectives and these large shared services organizations are accountable to delivering effective, timely solutions.

  11. Recommend and champion strategies and tactics designed to positively impact key drivers, such as price, risk profile, utilization, activation, attrition and revenue, to ensure P&L and market share goals are achieved.

  12. Build for the future and provide strong leadership; oversee talent plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain a diverse, qualified and engaged team to fulfill current and future business needs. Provide ongoing coaching and developing of staff and ensure resource planning.

  13. Understand the future of the industry and develop new products and services in order to better support clients and ensure smooth delivery of innovative solutions.

  14. Identify continuous improvement opportunities and manage productivity metrics and efficiencies.

  15. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

  16. Represent the company with clients, investors, and business partners.

MINIMUM JOB Qualifications

Education / Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Master’s Degree in business or related field preferred

Business Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of strong healthcare revenue cycle operational experience (both professional and institutional billing)

  • Experience in supplier side of healthcare driving growth

  • At least 3 years in a senior management role preferred

  • Management in large and complex environment that includes call center and workflow technologies preferred

Specialized Knowledge / Skills:

  • Proven experience and expertise in leading a large and complex organization through transformation from one of largely independent, stand-alone business units to a more fully integrated and strategically aligned organization.

  • Working knowledge of operations at the intersection of services and software, including healthcare information systems and call center technology preferred

  • Senior/Executive leadership experience in the capacity of revenue cycle in large acute setting or acute focused vendor required; self-pay call center knowledge strongly preferred

  • Deep knowledge of compliance requirements related self-pay and account receivables management. TCPA, 501R etc.

  • Experience leading and growing the P&L of a solutions business within a medium to large size healthcare organization. Experience working with product development, launching new products and thinking innovatively.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience partnering with human resources, information technology, and legal.

  • Thorough experience identifying and addressing client needs; developing and sustaining deep client relationships.

  • Demonstrated experience as a team leader; leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction and motivate members to achieve established goals.

  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.

  • Excellent presentation and verbal and written communication skills, including effective reporting of operations, issues and performance.

  • Excellent people and influencing skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team and navigate enterprise politics and matrixed relationships.

  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to Change Healthcare’s Vision and Values

  • An undergraduate degree; advanced business degree is a plus.

  • Must be able to travel 25 - 50% (potentially higher if not located in preferred areas)

Working Conditions:

  • Candidates for this position will be based in Atlanta, GA, Tampa, FL areas or remote

  • Environment – Office environment, at least 50% travel required.

  • Physical Requirements – Sitting, standing, walking, and using key board.
