Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a respected facility in New Bedford, MA, currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for full-time positions.
Position Details:
Location: New Bedford, MA
Duration: 13 weeks to start, with the likelihood of extension
Facility Type: Correctional Facility
Shifts: Mon-Fri and every other weekend, 10:45 PM - 11:15 PM
Pay: $48/hr local, $2,150 gross/week travel
Position Description:
General nursing duties, including medication administration, triage, and risk assessment
Assisting physicians with medical treatments
Administering prescribed medication
Applying surgical dressings and bandages
Providing emergency first aid care
Checking and recording vital signs
Obtaining specimens from inmate patients for diagnostic testing
Reporting reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in inmates’ emotional or physical condition
Providing inmate patient education and/or discharge planning
Recording all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner
Promoting a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated professionally, ethically, and tactfully
Performing other position-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Current Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred
Current CPR certification if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Will consider a new grad
