Amazon Front End Engineer, Amazon Robotics (AR) Sortation Planning in North Reading, Massachusetts

As a Front end Engineer on the AR Sortation Planning team, you will design, develop and deploy full-stack Dashboard solutions using AWS that are scalable, reliable and performant

• Internalize our customer challenges and derive creative solutions which apply new and innovative technology.

• Design, build, and test business critical reusable UI components in a micro frontend architecture that when composed form consistent and robust user experiences

• Bring frontend industry experience to the team, and innovate on our frontend test and deployment best practices. Drive innovations like user A/B tests and automation.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Amazon Robotics UI/UX team, and customer Software teams to build and test user experiences that contribute to our customer vision.

• Develop in React and TypeScript with agency to innovate on our Front End tech stack.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive frontend best practices and provide expertise to a full stack team.

• Innovate and iterate with the AR design team and our customers.

• Shape the architecture, design, and deliverables.

• Become a mentor to other engineers on the team.

• Establish automated testing processes that enable us to continuously build with limited defects.

About the team

We have a talented, innovative and diverse team that works on cutting edge software driving human and robotic workflows, UI interfaces, AWS services at middle-mile Sortation centers within the Amazon Transportation Services network. We build algorithms to optimize sortation rates, improve safety and ergonomics, delight our associates, build simulations for our new robotic solutions, all while operating at Amazon scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

  • Experience building and maintaining applications with JVM-based languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Scala.
