Amazon Global Commodity Analyst, Robotics Supply Chain in North Reading, Massachusetts

Description

The Global Commodity Analyst is responsible for supporting the Global Commodity Management team in driving data-driven decision making and process improvements. At the core of the Global Commodity Analyst's role is the development and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of metrics and KPIs to track supplier spend, cost trends, and operational performance at Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels. The Global Commodity Analyst creates advanced data visualization tools and interactive dashboards in Tableau, enabling effective communication and data-driven decision making with internal stakeholders and vendors. Additionally, the Global Commodity Analyst consolidates data required for metrics reporting, including cost tracking and Excess and Obsolescence (E&O) material at suppliers, providing valuable insights to finance partners.

To ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability across GCM systems and tools (e.g., Oracle, Agile, Tableau), the Global Commodity Analyst implements robust data governance practices. The Global Commodity Analyst also plays a crucial role in identifying opportunities to streamline and automate manual processes related to RFx, capacity planning, and new product introduction. By leading the development and deployment of new tools and processes (e.g., Commodity Segmentation, Preferred Supplier List), the Global Commodity Analyst enhances the Global Commodity Management team's operational efficiency and data management capabilities. Additionally, the Global Commodity Analyst is responsible for maintaining the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and keeping track of new product releases and engineering change orders.

Maintaining strong supplier relationships and collaboration is another key aspect of the Global Commodity Analyst's responsibilities. The Global Commodity Analyst manages a Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) schedule with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers, including scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and capacity planning. Moreover, the Global Commodity Analyst tracks the status of supplier contracts and collects monthly supplier scorecard data from stakeholders and vendors.

The Global Commodity Analyst serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on the use of GCM systems and tools. The Global Commodity Analyst analyzes and presents data to support Global Commodity Management-led supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing decisions, contributing to the development of long-term supplier development strategies.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Science/Engineering or related field.

2+ years experience with Data visualization Tableau/Power BI.

Advanced Excel.

Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in Science/Engineering or related field.

Tableau Data Analyst Certification.

Basic SQL querying using tools like DataGrip

Experience with programming languages like R, Python.

Project Management experience working with cross-functional teams.
