We are seeking an experienced EMI and EMC Compliance Engineer to lead our Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, RF engineering, or a related field, along with proven experience in leading EMI and EMC testing operations.
RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
Lead day-to-day operations of the EMI and EMC testing laboratory, including scheduling and resource allocation.
Oversee and conduct EMI and EMC testing on automated test equipment to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Develop and implement testing procedures and protocols to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams at all Teradyne engineering sites to provide guidance on EMI and EMC design considerations for new products and systems in all phases from concept to product release.
Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to EMI and EMC testing.
Prepare test plans and assist with setting systems up for testing in the on-site semi-anechoic chamber, EMC lab and/or at other Teradyne or third-party test sites.
Troubleshoot test failures and recommend design changes as appropriate.
Help maintain a clean, well-organized test lab environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering; or equivalent combined experience and education – which would include an associate’s degree or technical school certification or related military training in electronics.
Proven experience in EMI and EMC testing and compliance, preferably in a mentorship role
In-depth knowledge of EMI and EMC testing standards and regulations, such as FCC, CISPR, and IEC standards.
Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
Minimum 10 years’ experience with EMI and EMC testing equipment and software tools.
Solid understanding of ESD and EMC performance at the subassembly and system level.
Needs to possess outstanding English communication ability (written, verbal, & presentation), team skills, and show a history of driving & closing actions.
Must have good knowledge of EMC Standards such as IEC 61326-1 or equivalent
Working knowledge of ATE (or highly integrated electrical equipment).
Must possess an ability to summarize actions and learnings into an output for updating best practices related to compliance.
Understanding of the role of an engineering support group and the accountability to drive issues and resolve problems.
Must possess the ability to summarize test results, concisely communicate status of testing and prepare formal test reports.
Experience working in an ISO 17025 environment a plus.
