Tech Deploy organization is seeking a talented and motivated Manager to lead deployments of emerging technologies in North America. This person will orchestrate the successful implementation of cutting-edge robotics solutions, both in greenfield and brownfield environments.
This role as a deployment lead will encompass a deep dive into the world of robotics technology, where you will commit to an intense learning curve to become a subject matter expert. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and other Tech Deploy pillars, including Deployment Readiness (DR), Systems Integration (SI), Strategy & Operations (S&O), Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Product Engineering and Site Operations, to ensure seamless integration and minimal intrusiveness during brownfield deployments. Your expertise will drive effective change management, risk mitigation, and technical guidance, ensuring that our robotics deployments exceed expectations.

Key job responsibilities
Project Management and Integrated Schedule Management:
- Responsible for developing and managing integrated project schedules covering all deployment aspects, ensuring alignment and addressing schedule risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reflect dependencies accurately.
Deployment Execution and Customer Hand-off:
- Lead hands-on execution of deployment plans, ensuring seamless integration of robotics systems. Monitor processes closely, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage transition to operations, gathering post-deployment feedback for improvements.
Change and Risk Management:
- Develop and implement change management strategies, assess deployment plans for risks, and implement contingency plans to meet objectives proactively.
Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates and escalating issues to senior management promptly.
Continuous Improvement and Lessons Learned:
- Conduct post-deployment retrospectives, capture lessons learned, and refine deployment methodologies for ongoing optimization.
Resource and Budget Management:
- Manage deployment resources and budgets strategically, optimizing resource allocation and evaluating team performance for alignment with project requirements.

About the team
The Robotics Deployment Engineering team consists of the field deployment teams for Amazon's robotic warehouse systems. The teams travel frequently and work across overlapping projects to complete their deployment scopes and continuously improve our processes.
Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of technical product or program management experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Management: 10+ years of management experience with 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
Influence and Communication: Proven experience with influencing, negotiating, and effective communication across multiple organization levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interfacing with leaders.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
Preferred Qualifications
Automation Expertise: Experience working with the design of complex automated material handling equipment and systems, including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
Partnerships: Strong track record of building partnerships across different engineering and product organizations.
Business Acumen: Possesses excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.
Roadmap Delivery: Experienced in delivering multi-year product roadmaps.
Business Analysis: Experience in non-technical aspects, including idea generation, and process optimization.
Best Practices: Experience in driving the adoption of program management best practices.
Mentoring: Skilled in mentoring engineers and technical program managers, contributing to their career growth.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $254,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
