Opportunity Overview:
Key technical leader that contributes to the concept, design, implementation, validation, release to production, and customer adoption of new high power and precision ATE instrumentation.
Typical instrument examples include high performance Device Power Supplies, High Power VIs, and precision measurement instruments for the Power Management, Mobile, Automotive, and High Performance Compute markets.
Typical design challenges include high speed power amplifiers, high density POLs, floating resource design, high performance data converter system design, high voltage design, high performance digital controller design, high current design, high power design, thermal design, high precision/accuracy designs, complex calibration schemes, design for reliability

Responsibilities:
Enabling Technology: Identification of key areas of enabling technology investment required to make our product visions a reality. Define and advocate for the funding for those investments.
Design Methodology: Participate and guide technical teams in a disciplined approach to design that proceeds efficiently from analysis->simulation->prototyping->first article->product release
Design Trade-offs: Clearly articulate design trade-offs available to navigate complex design challenges. Guide marketing and application teams through these trade-offs in order to enable quick decisions on product definition.
Problem Resolution: Solve and/or guide technical teams through the solution of complex multi-disciplinary problems
Mentoring: Provide on the job training and coaching to less senior engineers
Risk Identification/Reduction: Take complex, ill-defined problems and break them down into concrete actionable steps to reduce risk. Cleary define the mitigations to technical risk. Communicate the risk contingencies to key stakeholders in the organization.
Requirements:
Breadth: Recognized technical contributor in the several of the following subject areas
Analog circuits (audio amplifiers, transistor level design, analog front ends)
Digital and analog control loop theory and application
Developing concepts for differentiated products
Switched-mode power supply design
High performance (speed and precision) data acquisition
Extremely high complexity mixed signal pcb design
Advanced packaging: high density circuits
Magnetics theory and application
Ultra-low noise design
High speed signal integrity and power integrity
Mixed signal simulation
Familiarity with software programming concepts
Aspiration: Ability and desire to both apply and grow technical expertise

10+ years of HW design experience. Instrumentation design experience preferred
BSEE or equivalent
