The Amazon Robotics Supply Chain and Operations organization sources and manufactures a portfolio of robotics technology and is responsible for getting the right materials to the right place at the right time to support our network of global fulfillment and transportation solutions.
The Global Electronics Commodities Management team is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager for PCBA / Electronics (PCB, Semiconductors, Passives, Cameras, FPC, Antennas, and other core components) with a background in global supplier management, new supplier introduction, supplier development, and executing sourcing decisions to support new product introduction and long-term commodity strategy. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-managed and a driven supply chain manager, with experience in electronics industry, specifically managing the sourcing of PCBA components, and business acumen to support engineering teams to develop latest technologies through strong vendor base, without capacity constrain, while achieving cost reduction goals.
The Supply Chain Manager has an important role in ensuring the electronic commodities and suppliers meet the technical and commercial specifications necessary for Robotics to satisfy its internal Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Hardware Engineering customers.
A day in the life
This candidate will work collaboratively with multiple business functions in a team environment and will be responsible for the following:
-Support Global Commodity Managers by identifying and recommending cost savings opportunities across multi-sourced components and collaborating on preferred status.
-Research and assess all electronic components manufacturing business continuity plans and build a working dashboard for input into supplier scorecards.
-Provide escalation support, tracking, and pull in requests for components causing shortages at contract manufactures.
-Multi sourcing all critical and high risk PCBA components. Collaborate with both hardware design, manufacturing engineering, and commodity managers to ensure second and third alternate sources to de-risk product manufacturing execution.
-Develop Key Performance Indicator package for leadership on component lead time trends for utilized and future components, and highlight improvement trends in multi-sourcing.
-Author, develop, and publish a quarterly electronics newsletter for the larger organization partnering with key data providers and the team’s commodity managers and technical domain owners.
-Provide electronic component commodity sample support for quick turn and prototyping.
-Support the purchasing and planning teams by monitoring supplier performance and addressing supply and/or quality issues.
-Periodic travel to supplier’s domestic and international manufacturing sites, approximately 10%.
About the team
The Electronics Commodity Management team is a newly formed team inside the Robotics Supply Chain organization. We are looking for talent who are not afraid to work in undefined processes and bring their best practices to the team. We are passionate about reducing lead time, optimizing cost, ensuring delivery, and building resiliency into our robots supply chain.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of program or project management experience
3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
3+ years of supply chain experience
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics
Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
