Pathlight Group Autism Center Coordinator in Northampton, Massachusetts

NORTHAMPTON Autism Center Coordinator Schedule: Monday - Friday / *30 Hours per week / Ability to work Evenings & Weekend to meet program schedule needs. *Ability to increase to 40 hours per week a plus SUMMARY OF POSITION: Perform a variety of duties to support families with children with autism and the organization of the Autism Center. Assists in planning, and implementing social activities for individuals with autism and their families; fosters parent networking including support groups; facilitates social/recreational opportunities with other providers and community resources; supports external communications; manages data bases; oversees information and referral program; in compliance with Association, Community Resources and governing agencies\' policies, procedures and regulations. Knowledge and Experience Required: Broad knowledge of a discipline involving the use of a broad theoretical knowledge equal to two years of college. Over 3 years\' experience in activities planning and interacting positively with families. Experience working directly with children with autism preferred. Requires valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation/vehicle. Skills and Abilities Required: Must be able to maintain regular attendance. Proficiency with Windows Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and InDesign). Design skills preferred. Knowledge of website management (Image Builder and WordPress) and familiarity with social media. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups inside and outside the agency including families with children with autism, autism consultants and other professionals. Ability to work effectively with a team of staff in designing programs. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work proactively, independently and bring any issues/problems to the attention of supervisor. Work with confidential data that if disclosed, could have adverse internal effect or minor external effect. Essential Job Functions: Collaborate with appropriate managers/staff to implement program activities for children and young adults with autism including sensory, social skills, and whole family recreation activities. Responsible for quality of operations in front office and interactions with families and the public, including visitors and phone calls. Provides information about resources and services; assists families with intake process; makes internal referrals. Prepare and process various reports, mailings, newsletter and other communications which may require information tracking and/or collection, organizing and computation. Develop and/or implement procedures for maintaining website, resource library, resource directory and social media. Assist in organizing parent networking opportunities including support/resource groups. Responsible for coordinating a yearly calendar of activities and trainings, identifying locations, developing flyers, registration, tracking attendance, and evaluations. Promote community integration by developing partnerships with generic community recreation organizations to provide activities. Respond to internal and external requests for documentation, performance measures, and other reports. Assist Managers and Director in development of organizational procedures and practices to improve program. Participate in committee work as assigned. Responsible for supervision of volunteers and interns. Perform other similar duties required by responsibility or necessity or as requested by supervisor
