State of Massachusetts Contracted Student Interns in Northampton, Massachusetts
This internship opportunity is for an Undergraduate or Post-Graduate student who must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited College or University.
This position will work with the Adult Mental Health Services Division in the Western MA Area on a database project to identify factors that may influence the length of time between discharge from Vibra to either admission to an acute psychiatric hospital or incarceration. This will include obtaining data by review of DMH and Vibra hospital records. This project may promote the mission of DMH if its findings are used to improve access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals with serious and persistent mental illness , enabling them to live, work ad participate in their communities for greater lengths of time. This is a continuation of a project begun last year by a student intern.
Analysis of factors influencing the time to admission to an acute psychiatric hospital or incarceration after discharge from a continuing care hospital unit

The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery. The Department sets policy, promotes self-determination, protects human rights and supports mental health training and research. This critical mission is accomplished by working in partnership with other state agencies, individuals, families, providers and communities.
The salary range for this position is: Undergraduate $13-$16 per hour
Post-Graduate $15-$19 per hour
Monday through Friday, 9-5
Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.
All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.
