Status: Reports to Finance Assistant Manager Pay Level: VI, non-exempt. Location: Administrative Office, Florence, MA Purpose: The Finance Associate will provide a high level of service to River Valley Co-op\'s internal and external customers and will be responsible for ensuring fiscal responsibility in co-op operations, by providing up-to-date, accurate financial information. Desired Qualities The Finance Associate is a process-driven, organized, methodical individual who is eager to be accurate with financial data. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE Code invoices for entry to accounting system software; ensure documentation of product; accurately complete all data entry tasks. Process bill payments (checks) and file accurately. Reconcile statements, research, and resolve vendor payment issues. Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor files, and process new vendors. ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE Invoice and post payments for coupon redemptions. Support the Finance Department in maintaining and collecting other accounts receivable (charge accounts, bad checks, rebates, non-sales deposits) as needed. OFFICE MANAGEMENT Maintain computerized financial data and record-keeping procedures. Maintain electronic and paper documentation for data entered. Maintain training and instructional documentation. Maintain offsite storage and shredding. CUSTOMER SERVICE Maintain good internal customer service and assistance to coworkers. Maintain good external customer service and answer phones. Maintain good Ownership relations and answer questions as needed. Maintain good vendor relations. Qualifications ESSENTIAL Experience with QuickBooks. Financial data entry experience; working knowledge of GAAP. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite. Experience with databases and point-of-sale systems. General office equipment knowledge. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize productively and independently. Ability to work productively and independently and follow written and verbal instructions. Interest in developing new systems and efficiencies. Demonstrate ability to follow through on commitments. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Demonstrated ability to work with customers and co-workers from various cultural backgrounds. Regular and predictable attendance. FUNCTIONAL Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting or being still for extended periods. Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Ability to do math computations including addition, subtraction, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Ability to use office equipment; computer, Point of Sale, scanner, fax, copier. Ability to lift 60 pounds. Ability to speak Spanish, French, or Swahili a plus.
