Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Specialist System Engineer to synthesize and define complex electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems. Coordinate system level requirements and ensure that technical obligations are fulfilled.
Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:
Synthesize and define requirements and architecture for Stabilized System designs for complex electro optical solutions and RF/Microwave Systems
Ability to lead a Systems Engineering and multi-disciplinary team
Requirements Analysis and verification
Cost Account Management (CAM)
Can communicate technical design information and issues
Can generate Basis of Estimate (BOE) sheets with support
Coordinate system level requirements internally and among subcontractors and suppliers.
Work with Project Engineer, other engineers and other departments to ensure that all technical contractual obligations are fulfilled.
Ensure adherence to Quality Systems Manual and applicable Standard Work Instructions.
Adhere to budget and schedule commitments.
Design and develop control system components, circuits and subsystems for multidisciplinary products applications.
Perform engineering design analysis to establish validity of designs.
Prepare and review design documentation in accordance with contract requirements and/or internal standards.
Lead and support the assembly and integration of products/systems containing microwave components or subsystems.
Draft technical performance specifications and assist Purchasing Department with procurement of items as necessary
Leads technical analysis and design with customers and suppliers
Design or specify test procedures and test equipment (including O-Scopes, motion tables, optical collimators) and provide technical assistance to Technical Specialist or test personnel during testing of prototype and production hardware.
Working knowledge of inertial mass units, gyroscopes, electric motors, actuators, etc.
Support Production Floor for system integration and test
Conduct or coordinate system stabilization analyses, trade studies and complex design risk trade-off analysis.
Coordinate and lead design reviews of new or existing designs prepare/present complex internal and external design reviews.
Capable of providing technical supervision and training/mentoring to lower level engineers.
Successful candidates meet eligibility requirements to access US classified information
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
6+ Years of Systems Engineering Experience
Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citzenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Works in a typical office environment with exposure to light manufacturing environment
Light domestic and international travel environments – up to 10%
Software used: Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, Outlook E-mail, Microsoft Project
Technical Software Used: IBM Rational DOORS, IBM Rational Publishing Engine, CAMEO MagicDraw and System Modeler, Atlassian Jira, MS Project, Mathcad, MATLAB, LabVIEW
The use of safety equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas
Must be able to sit or stand for up to nine hours

Capable of traveling domestically and internationally
