Oxford Immunotec, Inc. Automation Technician in Norwood, Massachusetts
This position is a key member of the global Product Development team who will support automated activities globally and contribute to delivery of strategic goals. This role will provide input to the design and optimization of automated workflows for diagnostic applications. Assist installation, validation, and maintenance of instrument platforms and automation suites. Support Automation and Development team goals in and out of the laboratory.
Under direct supervision, responsible for contributing to design, performance, and interpretation of experiments in support of the company’s automation and product development plans. Contribute to design and optimization of automated workflows for diagnostic applications. Assist installation, validation, and maintenance of instrument platforms and automation suites. Support Automation team goals through execution laboratory experiments. The level of this role will be based on candidate experience (Min qualifications listed below).
Specific deliverables for the role include, but not limited to:
Assist with experiments toward the design and optimization of automated workflows and processes for diagnostic applications.
Prioritizes workload to ensure key objectives are met on time.
Assist installation, validation, and maintenance of instrument platforms and automation suites.
Provide specialist services to maintain, calibrate, and qualify specialized equipment.
In lab performance of manual and automated processes in support of process development.
Act as a liaison between OI and equipment vendors. Responsible for coordinating equipment purchase, installation, service contracts, etc.
Assist with demonstration of automated solutions for key customers.
Present experimental results and documentation status and overview at internal company meetings, potentially to other departments and sites.
Ensure that conclusions in written reports and presentations reflect the data presented, and that reports are of the highest quality and consistent with Development documentation standards.
Associates degree in Life Sciences or Engineering plus demonstrable validation experience in a pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer healthcare, or related industry required; Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience in a validation role for use with diagnostic applications
Proven ability to support marketing objective driven goals and to deliver results (products)
Proven ability to deliver results under a quality system and in compliance with regulatory requirements
Immunological assay and T cell immunology knowledge is an advantage
High personal & professional standards and a commitment to scientific excellence
Capable of critically appraising problems and identifying potential solutions
