Job Description

We're looking for a highly motivated Calibration Standards Coordinator to join our Instron team! The CSC is responsible for maintaining and monitoring various databases critical to the Instron Calibration Laboratory’s compliance to ISO 17025, creating and issuing reports to management on key laboratory metrics, and the distribution and control of field equipment, including tracking of calibration dates and priority scheduling. The Standards Coordinator will work directly and daily with laboratory staff and management, the Regional Managers as well as Field Service Engineers to maintain ISO 17025 compliance by following documented Quality procedures, and will play an important role in the continuous improvement of our laboratory operations.

The laboratory consists of the Norwood force calibration facility with a small support staff and 100+ remote Field Service Engineers. Dealing effectively within this organization will require a pro-active attitude, good communication skills, persistence, as well as attention to detail and accuracy.

Additional responsibilities below:

  • Communicates daily with FSE/Managers on many issues including equipment recall, scheduling and usage.

  • Ship, receive, recall, and track all field equipment - expedite as required.

  • Schedules equipment loans and special equipment as required, notifies management immediately of situations that may affect the quality or scheduled delivery of services in the field.

  • Work effectively in various Instron databases such as Agile, Tesseract, IBS, and CalproCR.

  • Place, track and expedite quotes and orders with suppliers (internal and external). Interfaces with suppliers, buyers and planners to resolve material and service issues in a timely fashion.

  • Work with Norwood force lab calibration technicians on the prioritization of pending force calibrations to meet FSE schedules.

  • Create and publish regular reports tracking metrics key to the efficient operation of the calibration business as well as key to following ISO 17025 quality requirements.

  • Provides all required telephone follow up to ensure closure of communications with customers and service engineers related to standards information and tracking of parts orders and repair services.

  • Coordinates with outside calibration services for the calibration of Instron Field Service equipment.

    Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

  • Well organized, with an attention to detail, and a persistent attitude. i.e. ability to keep after people/ tasks until they are completed.

  • Ability to schedule his/her time as well as others; able to handle multiple tasks.

  • Desire to take "ownership" of the equipment and processes being tracked and reported on; desire to improve the efficiency of our operation.

  • Ability to work with Instron databases such as Agile, Tesseract, IBS.

  • Ability to perform interactive computer data entry, using a personal computer (MS Windows), while working with customers and service engineers on the telephone.

  • High School plus a minimum of 4 to 6 years of customer support, or equivalent business experience.

  • Experience as a Service Coordinator, or similar customer services information and administrative process tracking work performance activities
