ITW Electromechanical Scheduler/Planner in Norwood, Massachusetts

This in-office role is responsible for planning and scheduling EM orders in Norwood, MA. Communicating with and supporting the global sales team in terms of manufacturing’s ability to fulfill customer needs. This is a key role linking sales, supply chain and production, therefore pro-activity is needed to keep abreast of the external situation and understand, and act upon its impact on the internal resources and facilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Represent manufacturing in the MOCT process. Ensure orders are scheduled and acknowledgements provided within agreed timeframes.

  • Based on business activity level, provide sales and business teams lead times for products.

  • Liaise with supply chain and production functions to ensure lead-times are maintained at a competitive level. Use macro level activity trending to recommend changes to resource levels.

  • Facilitate and encourage use of lean manufacturing, stock replenishment strategies, Kanban, 80/20, in-lining and simplification in production. Demonstrate continual improvements in various aspects of the job.

  • Ensure ERP system is used and maintained effectively, to enable global visibility of manufacturing activities.

  • Encourage quality and safe working practices to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment in line with applicable safety regulations. Voice the need for a safe workplace on daily basis.

  • Manage areas of responsibility to ensure continuity of service levels.

  • Develop and maintain a web based informational chart for product lead times.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar production planning role within a medium/high volume capital equipment manufacturing environment or a Degree in Manufacturing/Business.

  • Proficient with MS office tools and ERP systems.

  • Analytical, methodical, and accurate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of effective and modern material replenishment techniques.

  • Demonstrated people management & team working skills.

  • Self-directed, highly motivated & achievement-oriented person.

  • Familiarity with International Quality Management Systems.
