Our client just south of Boston is looking to add an Equipment Engineer to their growing team! Candidates that will be fit for this role will come with at least 5 years of manufacturing experience within a regulated industry, such as med device or aerospace and defense. This experience should include maintenance work with complex electro-mechanical systems, if candidates have PLC programming experience that is a plus. Candidates should also have a BS degree in these preferred fields: electro-mechanical, mechanical, or chemical engineering. responsibilities:

  • Research equipment and technology solutions, providing input on technology roadmaps.

  • Oversee implementation and integration of new technologies and process automation projects.

  • Lead new equipment projects, including developing capital requests, user requirements, floor layout, project plans, overseeing FAT, equipment installation, SAT, qualification, and production start-up.

  • Establish preventive maintenance schedules and spare parts lists for new equipment with suppliers and the AP maintenance team.

  • Collaborate with scheduling, supervisors, process engineers, and technicians on machine cycle times, capacity, capabilities, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

  • Execute continuous improvement projects to optimize and standardize equipment and output.

  • Define critical equipment functionality and monitors performance to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.

  • Design fixtures and develops quick changeover solutions.

  • Work with process engineers and other team members to maximize success

  • Support and leads Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) projects as necessary.

  • Develop initial operator on-the-job training and work instructions for new technologies.

  • Provide technical training to operators, process technicians, and the engineering team as needed.

  • Develop key process metrics and controls and utilizes MRP systems as required.
