FM Senior Claims Examiner in NORWOOD, Massachusetts

The Senior Claims Examiner will handle losses directly and will also supervise and direct the activities of independent adjusters, on losses up to $500,000 gross ensuring all FM claims requirements are met. They will also provide claims handling support assistance to experienced adjusters on larger losses as assigned by the Operations Claims Manager. The Senior Claims Examiner will handle all homeowner claims for FM employees insured with our FM Affiliated group.

With responsibility for developing and maintaining long lasting relationships with our policyholders, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a high level of personal credibility through outstanding interpersonal skills and an aptitude for negotiation.

Although it is predominantly office based, occasional travel to sites will be necessary.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate may progress to a Loss Adjuster position as experience is gained in the Claims Examiner role.

Successful candidates will enroll on FM’s adjuster training program participating in formalized training classes in the US, self-study, and trailing experienced Adjusters.

  • Degree qualified with experience of working with commercial property claims and homeowners’ claims experience.

  • Extremely organised and efficient with first class time management skills and thorough attention to detail.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and adherence to strict time deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Progressing to or commitment to gaining AIC or CPCU qualifications or equivalent would be an advantage.

The hiring range is $78,500 - $112,800. These ranges are representative of the hiring salary for the role. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
