REMOTE - must live in MA (RI may apply but must have current significant ties to MA) - Development Director Organizational Overview: Tides for Reproductive Freedom (Tides) is the first abortion fund in Massachusetts founded and led by people who have had abortions, Black, Indigenous, & Queer folx. We are small and scrappy in all the good ways and in the ways that push us to grow. Organization-wide we are unapologetic in our belief that no one should have to struggle when accessing an abortion, making it our mission to approach abortion funding from a whole person perspective. We approach our staff and the communities we serve the same way, because we are our communities - we are whole people. We believe that anti-blackness is real, that people (not just women) get abortions, and that orgs can keep their land acknowledgements if they are not actively working with Native communities. Position Description The Development Director is responsible for leading and managing all fundraising strategy, operations and events for Tides for Reproductive Freedom (Tides). This position oversees all grants and donor cultivation activities. The Development Director works with Tide\'s staff and Board of Directors to create and implement strategic fundraising plans to build the capacity of Tide?s support in Massachusetts and nationally. Job Requirements Five or more years of relevant work experience Familiarity and experience with implementing principles of Community Centric Fundraising Experience with planned giving and digital fundraising to raise a minimum of \$100,000 Skill Sets Highly organized and detail oriented; must be a self-starter Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate using multiple methods to people of diverse work and communication styles. Outstanding judgment, sensitivity, and high level of confidentiality and discretion. Experience developing short and long-term plans, tracking progress towards goals, and prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met Proficiency in Neon One, or similar CRM, preferably in a nonprofit setting Familiarity with Gusto, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Quickbooks Demonstrates sound project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects to meet required deadlines. Knowledge of fundraising best practices and fundraising data management. Self-motivated, resourceful, and creative; confidence with planning, problem-solving, and responding to changes related to work and events with a reputation for quality and excellence Commitment/Desire to build a Development Department reflective of Tides\' mission and values Qualities Committed to abortion access and full reproductive justice for all. An orientation to relationships, collaboration, and building the capacity of colleagues. Work Environment: This is a fully remote position. Must be able to actively participate in online communications including email, video conferencing and other online tools used to facilitate virtual office culture and work sharing. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners. Regularly required to communicate effectively via computer, phone and in person. This role requires frequent sitting.
