Expeditors Air Export Operations Agent in Peabody, Massachusetts

Scope of Position

Day to Day customer service and operations functions for air export department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities - As contained in the Operational Process Standards Manual:

  • Participate in Air Gateway Lateral milestones related to customer service through effective use of our Gateway Workflow tool.

  • Participate in Air Lateral milestones that relate to Operations (SMP no BLP – management of the SMP bin.)

  • Schedule pickups timely and accurately per the customer SOP

  • Track and Trace shipments timely and update customer service of any delays

  • Submit export clearances on a daily basis per govt regulations and Expeditors policies

  • Professional communication with customers and service providers required.

  • Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)

  • Send Shipment Alerts to customers and keep them informed of the progress of their shipments

  • Process House and Master shipments within the required timeframe accurately and per the customer SOP’s

  • Submit claims timely for any damaged cargo.  Must follow Expeditors procedures for handling damaged cargo.

  • Review shipments on hold

  • Updating system notes for shipments on hold.

  • Daily use of the workboard required.

  • Evening truck capacity review of JFK trucks

  • Manage transfer trucks to Logan and JFK airport effectively to avoid wait time.

  • Must be willing to work Saturday shift as a backup option

  • Handle DG shipments compliantly per IATA and Expeditors policies and procedures.

  • Effective communication to both the day warehouse team and night teams.

  • Training peers as needed

  • Auditing files – spot check areas of concern on an ongoing basis of the operations team

  • Collaborate with all team members in regards to any problem solving and process efficiencies.

  • Any other function deemed necessary by Manager

     

     

  • High School degree or equivalent

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel

  • Must be wiling to be DG Certified

  • Mus be willing to be Export Clearance Certified

  • Must be willing to be LATAM certified
