Kelly Services Senior Logistics Coordinator - Air Import in Peabody, Massachusetts

Kelly has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Logistics Coordinator - Air Import in Peabody, MA for a leading Global Logistics Company. This is a Direct Hire in-office position paying $50,000 - $58,000 starting salary ($24-$28 per hour non-exempt) based on experience. Along with your base salary you will receive an excellent benefits package, a standard 8-5 work week, and a “nicer” casual dress code environment. Benefits start at Day 1 of employment! Also, there is the possibility that one day of remote work will be allowed each week – the details of that are still being worked out. There is excellent opportunity for advancement and Global Logistics is a vital industry that is growing daily. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and providing import administration and control within government rules and regulations for Air Shipments.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Prepare price quotations on inbound international freight

• Rate and route international traffic

• Follow up with customers to resolve inquires

• Prepare, route, and cut air bills and manifests

• Correct billings and issue debit and credit memos for customers

• Arrange for pick up and movement of freight to gateways

• Expedite inbound import traffic to facilitate customs clearance

• Initiate and maintain customer master profiles in order to have correct information on hand in order to offer consistent service

• Maintain close liaison with the U.S. Customs Service and for various specialized U.S. Customs clearance requirements

• Key in U.S. Customs entry line items and submit entry to customs

• Communicating information and instructions to/from vendors

• Researching and resolving operational problems

• Review all documents, contact all first-time customers, perform credit checks, and handle other tasks as needed

Skills and Requirements:

• Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests

• Good interpersonal skills required

• Knowledge of Word and Excel

• Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards preferred

• Knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule preferred

• Basic knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval

• High school diploma or equivalent required
