Berkshire Health Systems HIM Patient Liaison in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
The HIM Patient Liaison Representative/Assistant/etc. is the position responsible for assisting patients with all aspects of the Meditech Portal, the Health Information Exchange process and the accurate management of master patient index information to support the collection of and access to the patient's health information.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Two (2) years experience in a medical record department required.
Three (3) years of customer service experience required.
Three (3) years computer experience required.
Education and Training:
High School diploma required.
Medical office training required.
Medical Assistant Certificate, Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or Computer Sciences preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Demonstrates ability to perform very detailed tasks efficiently and effectively.
Excellent phone etiquette required.
Prior experience with HIPAA regulations preferred.
Proven ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple situations at any given time.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must be able to positively interact with patients, co-workers, other visitors, physicians, and Medical Center personnel.
Must be very responsible and detail oriented.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to team and follow through on assignments.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Knowledge and experience with Meditech preferred.
Ability to work at multiple campus sites.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time and use telephone and computer for extended periods of time.
