Berkshire Eye Center, P.C. Insurance Verification Specialist in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
DUTIES: - Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients - Review and analyze insurance information to ensure accuracy and completeness - Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals - Update patient records with insurance information and any changes in coverage - Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and coverage - Collaborate with medical billing team to resolve any insurance-related issues or denials - Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations SKILLS: - Proficient in medical coding and terminology - Knowledge of ICD-9 coding system - Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance policies - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment - Experience working with an Ophthalmology Office a plus REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\'s degree preferred - Minimum of 1 year experience in medical or ophthalmology office setting, specifically in insurance verification - Familiarity office software applications BENEFITS: - Competitive salary based on experience - Health, dental, and vision insurance options - Retirement savings plan with employer match - Paid time off and paid holidays Full Time, Monday through Friday.
