Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an exceptionally skilled Facilities Technician III to join our team in Plainville. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our world-class facilities and ensuring flawless operations.

Working Shift - Sunday – Thursday 10:00pm – 6:30am

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative, routine, and non-routine maintenance on facilities equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Document all work on validated systems, including equipment logs, readings, and alarm investigations, to maintain accurate records.

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure consistency and adherence to safety regulations.

• Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities to address any urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours.

• Investigate equipment failures and serve as a system expert for troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.

• Maintain compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and other regulatory requirements.

• Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

• Conducts thorough rounds of building utility areas, grounds, and machinery spaces.

• Ensures contractor compliance with EHS policies and procedures, including hot work and lock out tag out procedures.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.

• Proven experience as a Facilities Technician or similar role, demonstrating the ability to successfully implement maintenance and repair tasks.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, water generation, and plumbing systems to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to quickly determine root causes and implement appropriate solutions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ensuring efficient and effective completion of tasks.

• Attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures to maintain the integrity of the facilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and maintain positive working relationships.
