Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  1. Supervision of Staff : Directs the daily operations of the supply and logistics staff responsible for the timely ordering, receipt, inspection and delivery of materials, supplies and equipment required in provision of patient care.

  2. Compliance: Ensures that policies, procedures, quality assurance, and customer service standards are followed. Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of all department policies, procedures, technical guidelines and quality assurance standards. Ensures quality performance consistent with customer satisfaction goals as well as adherence to the requirements of regulatory agencies.

  3. Human Resources: Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels, interviewing, hiring, performance management including discipline, and termination of workforce consistent with HR guidelines. Responsible for completion of staff performance appraisals, competence assessments and compliance with educational assignments.

  4. Staff Training & Education: Identifies the training needs of BILH staff as well as any out-sourced staff. Develops and delivers in-service training programs. Coordinates department orientation and training as needed to ensure that duties are completed in accordance with needs and expectations.

  5. Fiscal Accountability : Responsible for departmental budgets. Evaluates equipment and makes recommendations for capital expenditures. Operates within the allocated funds.

  6. Interaction with Department Supervisors : Responsible for on-going interaction with department supervisors and end users concerning their requests for services provided by the supply chain staff.

  7. Communication: Conducts on-going monthly staff meetings, keeping the staff up to date as to the information pertinent to their job functions. Acts as a lead resource for Nursing Staff with questions or concerns relative to par-levels, custom requisitions, call-downs, equipment and supplies. Informs the appropriate leadership (both site and corporate) of any concerns regarding staffing, employee relations, scheduling, inter-departmental issues or anything else involving distribution and/or inventory control.

  8. Customer Service: Responsible for understanding the needs of the facility staff and insuring the supply chain team is delivering the service and/or product as designed. Builds and maintains positive relationships with all end-users.

  9. Coordinates with senior leadership and department directors to maximize service levels and minimize costs while consistently achieving best quality and value outcomes.

  10. Direct numerous system-wide cost saving opportunities and projects.

  11. Collaborates with affiliated group purchasing organizations providing support and data to assure maximum application of best priced goods and services.

  12. Establish key relationships with our end users including regular meetings and reporting. Builds, maintains and manages strong partnerships with our strategic vendors.

Supervises a staff of approximately 20

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration (or a related discipline) or by a combination of advanced education and demonstrated experience.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience with Supply Chain and distribution systems

  • Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of hearlthcare supply and distribution systems 2. Strong oral and writing skills

  • Demonstrated history of strong team building skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Positive interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstration of supervisory, collaborative and relationship building skills

Dept/Unit Specific Skills:

  • Experience with computer systems necessary for performing inventory management functions required.

  • Familiarity with web-based applications including Outlook along with familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
