_Who We Are:_ The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) is the state agency which supports, regulates, and enhances the rich diversity of the Commonwealth’s agricultural community to promote economically and environmentally sound food safety and animal health measures and fulfill agriculture’s role in energy conservation and production. The MDAR also supports the State Reclamation Board – Mosquito Control (SRB), which oversees mosquito control to ensure that an early detection, warning, and response system is in place. _Who We Serve:_ Massachusetts was the first state in the nation to combine energy and environmental agencies under one Cabinet secretary. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) serves Commonwealth residents interested in outdoor recreational activities, clean energy solutions and those who work with animals and livestock. Equally, EOEEA works with energy consumers, power companies, clean energy providers and farmers to delicately balance the interaction with environmental protection laws and regulations while being a cornerstone for our economic prosperity. _Job Opening: _ The Plymouth County Mosquito Control Project, located at 272 S Meadow Rd, Plymouth, MA 02360 is an agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that provides mosquito control services. The Project is seeking applicants for a Pilot/Survey Technician, to perform the following duties: A cover letter and resume must be submitted as part of the application process and attached “as relevant” to the requisition. * The Pilot/Survey Technician will be responsible for aerial application of liquid and granular larvicides using the Projects fixed wing aircraft. The Project currently operates one Cessna 188 AgWagon. Flying duties will be roughly 100 hours per year. When not performing flying duties, the Pilot/Survey Tech will be expected to assist in other mosquito control duties including larviciding and water management. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must possess or obtain appropriate MA pesticide licenses. Must possess or obtain all aeronautical licenses necessary for the application of pesticide from an aircraft. Must pass a Project-provided physical examination. *TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Apply pesticides by fixed wing aircraft 2. Maintain aerial spray record in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. 3. Keep trucks, spray systems support equipment and aircraft clean and in good working order 4. Schedule inspections and repairs of project equipment including aircraft as necessary 5. Assist in obtaining agreements and waivers as may be necessary for project operations 6. Apply pesticides by ground equipment 7. Assist with water management projects 8. Assist General Foreman as needed 9. Vacation time may not be taken during April or May unless approved by the Superintendent QUALIFICATIONS_ _ 1. High School Diploma 2. Willingness to work out of doors year round in all weather conditions. 3. Good physical condition and able to pass Second Class FAA Medical. 4. Willingness to work odd hours and overtime as duties require 5. MA Pesticide License-Applicator (Core) 6. Must obtain within 6 months (Paid training and study time provided) a. Ma Pesticide License Commercial category 34 and 47 b. Ma Hoisting License 2A/1C 7. Strong consideration will be given to applicants with a. Exceptional mechanical ability b. Class A CDL c. Experience operating construction equipment 8. Flight Experience a.
