State Street Design Thinking Practice Consultant in Quincy, Massachusetts

*Job Summary*

Supports Design Thinking application efforts division-wide and across business partners. Uses thorough understanding of business systems, financial industry, and system development lifecycle methodology(ies) to provide the highest level of expertise to support very complex longer-term projects throughout their life cycle, with an emphasis on customer experience throughout the visioning and analysis stages, This role is a part of the Global Technology Services, Client Experience organization.

*Key Responsibilities*

  • Participates in the orchestration of Workshops, Accelerated Visioning and Garages using the Design Thinking Framework
  • Evaluates and reviews project candidates requesting Design Thinking program support
  • Ensures the integrity of design resulting from Accelerated Visioning through to delivery
  • Actively participates in the planning and scheduling of Design Thinking programs in support of project requests
  • Determines cross functional resource requirements to execute Design Thinking programs
  • Practices the application of Design Thinking Framework and Tools and promotes a user centric design culture throughout the organization
  • Provides Design Thinking Practitioner Framework Instruction, actively participates in the Chapter, exhibits Design Thinking behaviors, and coaches Practitioners and Co-Creators for successful application of the Design Thinking Framework
  • Drives the analysis of current processes and recommends solutions and improved processes; may provide counsel on impact of changes to business processes through the application of a design thinking framework
  • Actively participates in the development of detailed user research, persona development, journey maps, usability recommendations, MVPs, vision blueprints, big ideas, prototypes, and related documentation
  • Coaches and advocates for users regarding needs and outcomes across functional groups
  • Consults with users, developers, testers, and implementation specialists

  • Ability to Ideate and collaborate with business, client and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines with designers, developers, writers, and creative technologists, as well as with business and product managers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex situations clearly and simply by listening and conveying difficult messages in a positive manner
  • Ability to understand and communicate business drivers
  • Adept at competitive analysis, operating models, workflow analysis, and design
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals, strengthening relationships to achieve win-win solutions

Education

  • 4 year degree in related field. Advanced degree preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of back, middle and front office financial servicing application platforms
  • Solid knowledge of the requirements of the creative process, including typical time and resources needed to produce quality work
  • Familiarity with current web and app development technologies
  • Experienced with user centered design practices and delivering in agile frameworks
