State of Massachusetts Senior Integration Services Developer in Quincy, Massachusetts

The Integration Services Team supporting the Chief Technology Office within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is seeking aSenior Integration Services Developer. The individual hired for this position should have System Development experience supporting all phases of a J2EE based Enterprise Application including but not limited to requirements, design, development, testing and implementation. The individual hired will be working closely with and will be reporting directly to the Integration Services Team Lead as well as working with broader EHS/IT teams. EHS/IT is looking for a well-organized, result driven candidate who possesses leadership qualities. The primary work location for this role will be at 100 Hancock St, Quincy, Massachusetts 02171. The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM EST. This position would be expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: * Administer and manage IBM MQ instances. Develop and maintain new functionality for releases of ESB/OSB (Oracle Service Bus) to transform and route messages. * Develop MQ object definitions to support application projects. Install and configure MQ Series queue managers, queues, and channels as per design specifications. * Provide front line support for MQ related problems by being involved in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and recommending appropriate solutions. * Update MQ SSL certificates as necessary, coordinate MQ & OSB software level upgrades, and coordinate and solicit vendor support as necessary. * Research alternative Integration components for MQ/OSB/Active MQ in AWS and provide a strategy for adoption. * Provide direction & support during migration of Integration components to AWS. * Enhance existing code base and provide Production support for ESB/OSB and FTS (File Transfer Service) applications. * Coordinate deployments across Production and Non-Production environments through predefined process. * Develop Architectural Proofs of Concept to demonstrate business agile solutions and evolve core architectural constructs. * Maintain and execute Disaster Recovery policies and procedures. * Participate in design reviews and identify potential mitigation strategies for technical risks. * Train, ensure compliance with, and assist in the development of standards, policies and procedures, and possible oversight and coordination with other team members. * Work with end users, development staff, system administrators, management, vendors, and staff from other organizations to ensure successful implementation and operation of application systems. * Responsible for providing 24x7 on-call production support on a rotation basis and be available for off-hour deployments. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * 6 years’ experience with systems developmentsupporting all phases of a J2EE based Enterprise Application including but not limited to requirements, design, development, testing and implementation. * Good working knowledge of J2EE, Oracle Service Bus, IBM MQ, Active MQ, web service creation & consumption. * Ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills. * Good understanding and experience with network infrastructure e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, router, load balancer. * Independent, confident, self-learning and proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues. * Highly analytical, with the ability to independently analyze, document findings, and recommend solutions. * Familiarity with IBM DataPower & AWS.
